A Day on the Lake

With the weather being so good as of late, we have been taking advantage of it by spending time on the lake at her Grandparents. Maya loves the water and now is learning how to become captain of the boat.

Soccer Anyone?

Maya has started Soccer this summer and the verdict is still out. She loves being around all the kids her age but her attention to the actual game is limited. We have nothing but praise for our coaches because it is like trying to heard cats to get them all together, pay attention and follow instructions. Here are some action shots.

Kitty Kat

Today Maya went to her Kindermusic party where they had a bbq, toys, some castles that you can jump in and of course face painting. Although she was a little nervous at the start, she let them finish and loved the end result.

Haircut

Today truly was a big day for Maya. Not only did she get a new bed but she had her first real haircut. She did great! She sat in mommy's lap and was an expert. Here she is blowing kisses to her mom.

Big Girl Bed

Time flies so fast and we already find ourselves saying that Maya is growing up way too fast. An example of this is today Maya has graduated to a "big girl bed". If only seemed like yesterday that the crib was so big for her. Anyway, she loves it and has already stated to play games on it.

It's Been a while

Things have changed so much since Christmas. We have moved into our new home and Maya loves it. She has her own special room for all her toys and loves to play downstairs. Now that the weather is changing, we are getting out doors and there are plenty of children Maya's age to play with. I think she is really going to enjoy it here. We have also enrolled her in gymnastics and she loves it.

Welcome to 2008

We hope that everyone had a great holiday season. It was nice for both of us to be off over the holidays with Maya. The only problem was that she got a little spoiled being around us every day. We things are back to normal and the excitement is building because we will soon be moving into our new house. From what we can see, Maya has given it her approval and is already calling it "my house". Here are a few recent pictures of Maya in December.

Christmas Portraits #2

Christmas Portraits

Family Portrait

Our latest family picture taken the end of November.

Meeting Santa

Maya was in awe of Santa but did not want to get too close to him. The end result is in the photo below where she received a present from Good Old Saint Nic.

Its Been a While

It has been some time since we have posted anything to the site but we are going to try and keep it updated. We have been homeless since the fall and are hoping to move into our new house the end of January. Maya is doing incredible. It is amazing how fast she is growing up. she is no longer a baby but a little girl. What a fun time. Here are some updated pictures.

Super Star

Well the sunny weather has come and we have purchased Maya a pair of sunglasses (Dora the Explorer) to deal with the bright sun. For a while she would have nothing to do with them but now she loves to put them on. If is really funny that when she originally puts them on she immediately smiles as if she is getting her picture taken. She then proceeds to put them on top of her head, lets them hang from her nose and then puts them back on.

My Mom's a Teacher!

Thats right, Tanya graduated with her Bachelor of Education on May 11th. We are very proud of her accomplishment and since then she has been working as a substitute on a regular basis. Who knows, there may be an awkward time in the future where little Maya may come face to face with a teacher that knows all her tricks.

Spring TIme????

The weather is completely unpredictable this time of year but one thing is for sure, Maya loves the outdoors. One day she can go outside with light clothing on and the next we have to put a hat and mittens on her.

Florida - Part 1

Well we found out first hand how different it is traveling with children. Although it had its challenges, overall the trip was wonderful. Maya had a new found freedom with walking outdoors in the warm weather and was like the energizer bunny. We also found out that she is a water rat. Even on the colder days when no one else would go in the water, we could not keep her out. She loves the water and wanted to be in it continually. Some times she would just climb the step in the pool and sit on the edge and other times she would float around waving at everyone. The weather on the trip was just ok but the bad weather days were wisely used to provide Maya with a brand new wardrobe. She will be one well dressed little girl this summer.

Florida - Part 2

The Great outdoors

One of the few nice days we have had in March, Tanya took Maya for a walk and on the way home she let her out of the stroller and walk around. She was so impressed with her new found freedom to move around that it was hard for us to get her to come inside. When the weather warms up, it should be fun.
